This hour and a half presentation will look at a gender-specific cycle of intergenerational disadvantage and how that cycle can be interrupted. Focusing on BMOC (Black Men and Men of Color) highlights the disproportionate impact of disadvantaged families has on male educational outcomes, employment and earnings, high school enrollment, college enrollment and completion, and rates of violence victimization and offending, crime and incarceration.
